this comfortable apartment.

The apartment is on the ground
floor of an old stone house, and is reached via a gently sloping
drive (park your car on the road just above) and entered through
French doors from the terrace.
The main room is the open plan
living room. To one side is the fitted kitchen, which is well
equipped with electric cooker (two ring), extractor fan, microwave
oven, toaster oven, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, electric coffee
maker, toaster and kettle, as well as all dishes, glassware and
crockery.
The remainder of the room is
taken up by the wooden dining table seating four and the day
bed. There is also a TV (terrestrial stations).
A corridor leads from the living
room past the bathroom with shower cabin, WC and wash hand basin,
as well as a washing machine. At the end of the corridor is the
bedroom with double bed, night tables, chest of drawers and built
in closet with beautiful antique doors. French doors lead from
this room onto the terrace.
The terrace is comfortably furnished
with romantic French iron furniture, sun umbrella and deck chairs.
The old olive trees by the terrace provides some shade, and there
is also a shady corner in the garden, which slopes downwards.
The wide views from the terrace are over the valley leading towards
St Chinian.
More about
Pierrerue
Pierrerue is a 'pas du commerce'
vineyard village, which means it has no permanent shops. However
mobile shops come to the village throughout the week - the baker
daily at 8.45 am, the grocery at noon on Wednesdays and the butcher
at noon on Fridays and are very much a feature of village life,
when people gather to make their purchases.
A large choice is on offer on
market days in St Chinian - a colourful experience which takes
place on Sunday and Thursday mornings from 9 am - 1 pm. The shops,
restaurants and bars in St Chinian
itself are only a five minutes drive away. There are two supermarkets
in St Chinian, both stocking a good range of products. |
