Experience Maison Thomas, a charming village house with cozy rooms and comfortable furnishings, located in the heart of the St Chinian. Here, nestled in the foothills of the Montagne Noire to the north, you have real French village living.
A couple of minutes' walk through narrow winding village streets brings you to everything you need to make your stay a pleasant one. A few minutes more, and you are in the rolling countryside, surrounded by vineyards and magnificent scenery. At the same time, you are only a brief drive from the many other attractions of the south of France - 30/40 minutes to Mediterranean beaches, or to the gorgeous Cathar fortress of Minerve, an hour to the magnificent medieval city of Carcassonne, and 90 minutes from Spain. |
Maison Thomas has been traced back at least 350 years. Its interior was completely renovated, faithful to the style and atmosphere of a traditional French village house. Now, it offers comfortable accommodation for up to four persons. In the heart of the oldest part of St Chinian, it is ideally located for you to explore all of the features and attractions that Languedoc-Roussillon offers.
From inside the front door, the steep narrow stairs of the old house lead to the two bedroom floors. On the ground floor to the left is the spacious living/dining area, with a sofa and easy chair, and a dining table that will easily seat 6. There is a mini stereo with CD, radio and cassette player (and a selection of CDs in case you did not bring your own), and broadband internet access.

Down a couple of steps is the compact but fully equipped kitchen. Here you will find a fridge/freezer, 4 burner gas/electric stove with oven, electric kettle, toaster and microwave. There is also a washing machine.
Opening off the living area is a full three piece bathroom, with bath WC and wash hand basin. Lots of very hot water, you can luxuriate in welcome warmth after your walks through the village and hills.
Also off the living area is a cupboard, with the main water heater, broom, beach mats and vacuum cleaner.

On the first floor you find the first of two bedrooms, this one with two single beds. The second room on this floor serves as a den and is furnished with a sofa, easy chairs and TV. From this room a French door leads to the private terrace.

Returning to the stairs, on the second floor is the master suite, with a double bed, and a comfortable sitting area. There is also a full en-suite bathroom with shower, and heated towel drying bar/room heater. This room is equipped with air-conditioning/heater. Take a look at the stairs as you go - well-worn wood, and the famous tomette tiles, probably date back to when the house was built.
The house comes fully equipped with all crockery, kitchenware and bed and household linen. Please note that because of the nature of the stairs, this property is not suitable for young children or persons with impaired mobility.
